For on deck entertaining, the spacious one-level cockpit design features: a cozy dinning area, a 12-foot long couch, and a handy wet bar complete with bridge, icemaker and optional electric barbeque.
Adjacent to the helm, more guests can be accommodated at the roomy u-shaped bench seat. The captain will not be lonely, with twin buckets at the fully loaded helm, which includes a built-in Ramer radar and GPS. A row of gauges in the Danforth compass is always in view. And, just behind the hydraulic tilt wheel, the switches and controls are neatly laid out.
Docking is made easier with a 165-pound bow thruster. And for finding your way in the dark, the switches at the helm remotely control the spotlights mounted on the retractable fibreglass radar arch. The Alegria also has many special features including the walk through windshield that is electronically operated, allowing it to fold quickly and easily out of the way. The twin anchor locker doors open to reveal an electric windless and hidden away storage for a pair of fenders.
Below deck the richness of varnished wood and black caradon finished counters create a warm and elegant atmosphere. Skylights and swivel accent lighting brighten the main salon, which features an ultra leather, crescent shaped convertible couch and cherry wood table.
The compacted functional galley is a master of disguise. Under this removable caradon counter section is a double burner electric stove. In addition, cleverly stowed beneath the stainless steel microwave, is a wooden cutting board.
Space saving and ultra modern, this 14-inch LCD screen makes up part of the 600-watt surround sound home theatre system.
And, the aft guest stateroom features twin beds with opening portholes for ventilation and plenty of storage.
Our cruise, just off the shore of Fort Lauderdale, Florida was on a calm afternoon with waves running about a foot.
Pushing the throttles down, the Allegria's 26,000-pound hull started to come alive. The Alegria comes with a pair of straight shaft diesels, each delivering 480 hp, which delivered us a time to plane in just over seven seconds. With wide open throttles, the Allegria topped 34 mph and when throttled back, settled into a comfortable cruising speed of 25 mph at 2,000 rpm.
She is beamy, stable and well built. And, with every turn of the wheel delivered exactly what I expected of her. She proved that she has the performance to match her elegant good looks.
The Alegria is a very luxurious way to enjoy your time on the water. But, when the day is done, the luxury does not need to end. You can snuggle up here in the master stateroom, after all it is totally self-contained, with separate shower and head compartments, a full entertainment center so you can listen to tunes or watch DVDs.
And with an ergonomic bed system, that not only raises and lowers your head and feet, but also has three massage settings that control five zones. Simply turn your bed on, shut the integrated shade and you are ready to dream about your next boating adventure.
